    Long time friend

    in Memories of Steve

I first met Steve well over 50 years ago. He and my future husband, Dayle and I were part of the “Colby Cruisers”. We were young and foolish and silly and had enormous fun together. We went on trips, went camping, went to the figure 8 races at the fairgrounds in Monroe. The guys painted an old car orange with a paintbrush and Dayle drove the car. We had a great rooting section in the bleachers! The camping trip was to Lake Wenatchee and involved about 4,000,000 mosquitoes!! All big fun. As we got married and had families, we continued to be great friends. From Machias, where we all lived, to Eastern Washington when Steve and Gail moved there. The guys always managed to include pool and beer in these get togethers. Gail and I were frequently left home with the kids, but we managed to have a great time with a little wine and some girl talk. Even when Dayle and I moved to the Southwest, Steve always stayed in touch. He was a good friend and a good guy filled with fun and a wicked glint in his eye! Steve, you will be missed by us all. My sincere condolences to Gail, Eric and Renee and their families. I lost Dayle last year and I know how hard it is. You’re in my thoughts and prayers.

    fondly,

    Kathy Skyta

Thank you Kathy. This is really beautiful. We did always have a wonderful time with your family, no matter where we were. Dayle was a great guy as well and when I think of him it makes me smile.😀
